`Modernization of education system and independent Directorate for Secondary Education urgently needed`

Special Correspondent: A discussion meeting organized by Bangladesh Teachers Federation, affiliated with Education International, emphasized the modernization of the education system to enhance the quality of education held on Wednesday.
The speakers expressed their frustration over the current poor state of the education system at the moment.
Dr. Dewan Azad Rahman presided over the event, where Dr. Papia Sultana, Md. Abdul Mannan, Md. Kamrus Salehin, Bilsaje Ferdousi, Ismat Jakiya, and Shahana Afroze also participate among others.  
The speakers stressed the need for establishing an independent Directorate of Secondary Education to improve the quality of secondary education at the discussion meeting.
A program was adopted to celebrate World Teachers` Day on 5th October with due dignity in the meeting.  
An open call was made to everyone to participate in that program.
