Kamrul Hasan: There is no alternative to the BNP in safeguarding independence, the constitution, and democracy, as well as resolving the country’s current crises, said Afroza Khanom Rita, member of the BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council and convener of Manikganj district BNP.
She made the remarks on Wednesday (17 September) at the opening ceremony of the Upazila Administration Cup Football Tournament, held at the grounds of Baliati Ishwar Chandra High School in Saturia. The tournament was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Manowar Hossain Mollah.
Rita emphasized that for the welfare of the country and to ensure people’s rights, the BNP’s election symbol—the sheaf of paddy—must be made victorious in the upcoming national election. She alleged that although autocratic Sheikh Hasina was forced to flee the country by the BNP–student–people’s mass movement, her allies are still conspiring to destabilize the nation. She called for united public opinion to resist such forces.
She further stated that Bangladesh was freed from fascism due to the prudent leadership of BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, stressing that party unity is essential to preserve this achievement.
The event was attended by BNP leaders, activists of its associate bodies, and a large number of spectators. In the inaugural match, Dhankora Union Parishad defeated Horgoj Union Parishad 3–0.
