Human chain of CoU Bangabandhu Parishad in protest of vandalism of sculpture
  Date : 26-04-2024

Tanvir Ahmed Rasel, CU: Comilla University Bangabandhu Parishad holds human chain to protest vandalism of sculpture of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Kushtia. The human chain was held in front of the sculpture of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the university on Monday.

The human chain was conducted by Md. Zia Uddin, General Secretary of Bangabandhu Parishad. Leaders and activists at the time strongly condemned the vandalism, calling it a shameful chapter in history. They also demanded that those involved in the incident be brought to justice.

The speakers said, Bangabandhu is the place of our existence. To hurt Bangabandhu means to hurt Bangladesh. Since 1975, the defeated forces of `71 have repeatedly tried to turn Bangladesh into Pakistan. But that was not possible for the people`s leader Sheikh Hasina. Comilla University Bangabandhu Parishad is strongly condemning the vandalism of Bangabandhu`s sculpture.

Md. Ainul Haque, former president of the council, said, `I am very ashamed and sad as a Bengali. Because in the month of our victory, when we are going to celebrate the golden jubilee of independence, the vandalism of Bangabandhu`s sculpture is not an isolated incident. Rather, it was the activities of the anti-independence forces of 1971.`

Leaders and members of the executive committee of Bangabandhu Parishad were present.
