Five Milestone tragedy victims still battling for life at burn institute

BSS) - Five victims of the Milestone Tragedy remain under treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS), while 31 others have been discharged, according to hospital authorities.

"Five patients are still undergoing treatment at the burn institute, with 31 being discharged from the facility," NIBPS Resident Surgeon Dr. Shawon bin Rahman confirmed.

He added that 20 burn victims have succumbed to their injuries at the institute so far.

The tragedy occurred on July 21, when a Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet slammed into a two-storey building of Milestone School and College shortly after take-off around 1 p.m. The crash killed 35 people, including the pilot, Health Ministry officials said.
