Bangladesh has a natural beauty. There are lots of tourism spots in Bangladesh. Md. Mainul Ahad Shawon is Proprietor of Fly Ahad Aviation and Cheap My Trip Aviation spoke in a recent interview with The Muslim Times about the problems and possibilities of Bangladesh Tourism sector. He born in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur district on July 27 in 1994, the father’s name of the young businessman is Moin Uddin Munshi and mother’s is Maqsuda Begum. He is the youngest brother among 2 sisters and only brother. He likes to travel, even whenever he got a chance to go out with friends. The Muslim Times: Tell me the story of the beginning. How did you get involved in this profession?
Md. Mainul Ahad Shawon: After passing the SSC, I joined an agency at one of my relatives` agencies. Along with studying, I became involved in this work. Shortly after passing the diploma, the company closed down and I too moved out of the country. As a result of my experience and efforts from abroad, I started the business of CHEAP MY TRIP AVIATION. Later I’ve admitted BSC Engineering and started the business named Fly Ahad Aviation.
The Muslim Times: What do you think is the main problem of tourism business in this country?
Mainul Ahad Shawon: Over all, the tourism business is better than other sector in this country. The government is also taking this sector forward. However, in addition to some security flaws and lack of publicity, the infrastructural problems of tourist spots and lack of secrecy can be identified as the main problems of the tourism business.
The Muslim Times: What is the future of the ticketing business?
Mainul Ahad Shawon: Currently, the tourism business is much better. People are more vulnerable to travel than ever before. On the other hand, the online business has also brought transparency to the ticketing business. The most ordinary people can now be involved with any ticketing business.
The Muslim Times: What opportunities do you get from ATAB and TOAB?
Md. Mainul Ahad Shawon: They are moving the Association as they like. They are within a rules and regulations also. So, they can`t do everything even if they want to.
The Muslim Times: How do you evaluate the activities of Bangladesh Tourism Corporation and Tourism Board?
CEO, Fly Ahad Aviation: Despite the limitations, their activities are now better than before. A lot of transparency is also noticeable in their activities from other government institutions.
The Muslim Times: Are you satisfied with the current security of tourist spots?
CEO, Cheap My Trip Aviation: Despite some limitations, I am happy with their work.
The Muslim Times: Do you have any specialty that a domestic and foreign customer will choose you in the current competitive market?
Md. Mainul Ahad Shawon: When I do a job, I must first prepare a budget. Besides, I have to take into account the current market situation. In this way, we try to attract the customers in the competitive market between the powers of both parties, according to our policy.
The Muslim Times: Tell something to our young readers. What should they do at the end of their study, Job or business?
Mainul Ahad Shawon: Now days, getting a job are so difficult. There are many candidates against a single post. He or she can be a good entrepreneur because of his/her labor and talent with a little more freedom.
