An endeavour to heal economic wound of mass people

Special Correspondent: Many unemployed graduates and under graduates from cities, towns and far-flung areas of the country are learning freelancing and other IT related courses from Sum Tech IT institute situated at Mohakhali Rupayan centre and getting self-reliance.

During this Covid-19 pandemic, when the world economy is being suffocated by the onslaught of this disease, the worst human foe of the current century, such training centers are trying to  heal the economic wound of the mass people by rendering  IT related services and  making unemployed and unskilled people skilled and human resources enabling  them to get jobs  and become self-reliant.

Mr. Rafiqul, Ayon a young IT entrepreneur has been running an institute for quite a long time.

This Correspondent has found their activities,  which they are rendering to make unskilled people skilled in technical work and get them jobs. So, he had a talk with the owner of this institute for an interview. Here is the full sketch of interview depicted below:

Q. What is the name of your institute and when did you launch it?

A. Well. The name of my institute is SUMTECH IT INSTITUTE. It was established in 2002.

Q. Have you got any govt approval for your institute?

A. Yes, it is approved by the Bangladesh Technical Board Code 50645.

Q. Without entering into a job why did you start an IT training center?

A. Well. I could enter into a good job, but I wanted to be an entrepreneur in IT sector. You know in Bangladesh unemployment problem is getting acute day by day. Many general educated people are not getting job due to lack of technical knowledge. So, after learning IT related training from my institute, they will be able to get employment. From that point of view, I have started this IT training center.

Q. Which courses are you offering from your institute?

A. Well. I’m offering the following course from here:

a. Web design

b. Web development

c. Graphics design

d. Digital Marketing

e. Apps and games

Apart from these courses, I train to become Freelancers. Outside these courses, My IT center provides LICT Project, Learning and Earning, LEDP Project Under ICT Division of Bangladesh Government. In future, my institute will offer “she power” project. We are trying for “she power” project and hoping to get it within very short time.

Q. During this covid-19 pandemic, how are you conducting your courses and are you getting responses from the learners?

A. Well. During this Covid-19 pandemic we are offering both online and offline courses for the benefit of the learners so that they need not sit idle during this world crisis.  We are offering courses by maintaining all health rules of Corona virus very strictly.

Q. Do you think students having participated in your courses are getting benefits and how are they applying these?

A. When the students come to SUMTECH IT INSTITUTE for freelancing courses, then a responsibility comes upon our shoulder. We discharged our utmost care to make them fully acquainted with the courses and gear up their ability. After they have completed courses from here, they have found jobs in different scopes. Many  of them are working  with reputation and earning enough money with self dignity.

Q.  Could you mention names of some students, who after having been trained from your institute are now self-reliant?

A.  Well. Many students having performed full courses form our IT institute, they are now involved in freelancing with 100% success and earning thousands of dollars per month and become solvent, and they are also contributing to the socio economy of the country.

Q.  Can I think that your institute is working to solve unemployment problems of the country and creating human resources?

A.  Sure. You see the graduate students get admitted to the Sumtech IT.  They grow excellent skills in different sides on freelancing by our qualified teachers. In this way, they find out jobs in the world IT Market and they get jobs easily because of their freelancing skill that they acquire from here and earn handsome money dispelling the curse of unemployment. Once who were unemployed and frustrated, by being trained in freelancing, they are now able to maintain own families and also are helping other young people to get jobs in this sector. Thus, the unemployment problem, though partially, is being solved by the Sum Tech IT Institute.  In this way, I should say, my institute is contributing to solve unemployment problem of the country.

Q. What are your future plans and vision?

A.  Sum Tech IT Institute is established to create skilled human resources in order to develop the country`s economic growth. It also provides various IT training to make the youths skilled in different fields of expertise. The Institute is committed to generating, disseminating, and preserving knowledge, and to working with others to bring this knowledge to bear on the world`s great challenges. SITI is dedicated to providing its students with an education that combines rigorous academic study and the excitement of discovery with the support and intellectual stimulation of a diverse campus community. We seek to develop in each member of the SITI community the ability and passion to work wisely, creatively, and effectively for the betterment of humankind.
