Emergency hotlines for Bangladeshis in Iran, Lebanon

As the Israel-Iran conflict intensifies, the Bangladesh government has rolled out emergency hotlines to support Bangladeshi nationals in Iran and Lebanon and their families in Bangladesh.

Announced on Monday, June 16, 2025, the initiative aims to provide a lifeline for those caught in the escalating Middle East crisis.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, “The Bangladesh Embassy in Tehran and the Ministry in Dhaka have established emergency hotlines to assist Bangladeshi citizens in Iran and their relatives during this volatile situation.”

Emergency contact details

Bangladesh Embassy, Tehran:

Hotline: +98 990 857 7368 (WhatsApp enabled)

Hotline: +98 912 206 5745 (WhatsApp enabled)

Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka:

Hotline: +880 1712 012847

Caution urged in Lebanon

In a related development, the Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut issued an alert on the same day, urging Bangladeshi expatriates in Lebanon to exercise caution. “Given the special situation in the Middle East, we request Bangladeshi citizens in Lebanon to avoid unnecessary movement, especially at night, unless it’s an emergency,” the embassy advised.

It also urged compliance with local authorities’ warnings.

For urgent assistance in Lebanon, expatriates can contact:

Front Desk: +961 71 217131

Hotline: +961 70 635278

Helpline: +961 81 744207

The hotlines and advisories come as tensions between Israel and Iran, two of the Middle East’s major powers, continue to escalate, raising concerns for the safety of Bangladeshi citizens in the region. The government’s swift action underscores its commitment to protecting its diaspora during this turbulent time.
