International Desk : A foreign secretary-level meeting between Bangladesh, China, and Pakistan has taken place in China`s Yunnan province. All three parties have agreed to form a joint working group.

The foreign secretary-level meeting of the three countries was held in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China, on Friday (June 20).

Pakistan`s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already issued a statement regarding the meeting.

It is known that China`s Deputy Foreign Minister Sun Weidong, Bangladesh`s Acting Foreign Secretary Ruhul Alam Siddique, and Pakistan`s Additional Foreign Secretary Imran Ahmed Siddiqui were present at the meeting.

Meanwhile, the statement mentioned that Pakistan`s Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch participated in the first part of the meeting via video link.

At the meeting, she commended China for convening the inaugural meeting of the trilateral process. She also expressed Pakistan`s desire for deeper engagement between the Chinese Foreign Secretary and South Asian countries, noting the three parties` shared aspiration for people-centered development.

Expressing satisfaction with the upward trajectory of bilateral relations, Pakistan`s Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch stated Pakistan`s readiness to work with China and Bangladesh to enhance ties in trade and investment, agriculture, digital economy, environmental protection, marine science, green infrastructure, culture, education, and people-to-people exchanges.

In the trilateral meeting, all parties agreed to be guided by principles of openness, inclusivity, good neighborliness, mutual respect, and trust, and to work towards win-win cooperation.

Furthermore, the three parties agreed to form a joint working group to implement the understandings reached at the meeting.
