Habu Bhuiyan Calls for Building United Public Opinion to Protect Independence and Democracy

Kamrul Hasan : Rafiquddin Bhuiyan Habu, former Organizing Secretary of BNP and member of the District BNP Convening Committee, has called for building a united public opinion to protect independence and democracy, resolve the national crisis, and resist the fascist allies conspiring to destroy the achievements of the BNP-student-people’s uprising of July 24.

He made the call on Wednesday evening while addressing as the chief guest at a campaign program organized by Dighi Union BNP in Sadar Upazila. The event included the promotion of BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s 31-point reform plan for state reconstruction, leaflet distribution, mass communication, and a preparatory meeting of the election management committee.

The meeting was presided over by Md. Fazlul Haque, Acting President of Upazila BNP, and conducted by Anisur Rahman Forhad, Joint Convener of District Jubo Dal. Among others present were former District BNP Publicity Secretary Shamim Al Mamun, Upazila BNP General Secretary Nurul Islam, Senior Vice-President Shamsur Rahman, Anis Molla, Joint General Secretary Md. Abdus Sattar, Freedom Fighters Affairs Secretary Ataur Rahman, former Shibalaya Upazila BNP Youth Affairs Secretary Md. Abdul Karim, Municipal BNP Senior Vice-President Md. Abdur Rashid, BNP leader Akram Khan, former Organizational Secretary of Garpara Union BNP Manjur Ahmed Chanchal, Ward BNP General Secretary Omar Hossain Khan Jony, UP Member and BNP leader Abu Taher Liton, former Upazila Chhatra Dal President Shamsul Islam, former District Jubo Dal Vice-President and General Secretary of Lions International Club Manikganj Branch Kabirul Islam Kabir, Jubo Dal leaders Md. Selim, Shafiqul Islam Shipu, Joy E. Mamun, Joint Convener of Upazila Jubo Dal Aminul Islam, former Joint Convener of District Krishak Dal Abdul Goffar Bhuiya, Rupan Khan, District Krishak Dal Joint General Secretary Aminur Rahman Lelin, Upazila Krishak Dal General Secretary Matiar Rahman, District Krishak Dal Joint Organizing Secretary Mejbab Uddin Ratan, former District Swechchhasebak Dal Joint Convener Md. Habibur Rahman Khan, former Joint General Secretary Abu Sadat Md. Touhid, former Upazila Swechchhasebak Dal General Secretary Azmol Khan Noyon, former Municipal Swechchhasebak Dal General Secretary Shamim Ahmed, Upazila Tati Dal President Md. Amzad Hossain, along with leaders of BNP and all its associate bodies.

Habu Bhuiyan said, “In the past, fascist Hasina unleashed oppression and persecution on the people of the country. As a result, she was forced to flee under the pressure of the BNP-student-people’s mass movement. But her allies are still conspiring to destabilize the country. These accomplices will not be spared.”

He further said that Interim Government Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has announced a roadmap for the long-awaited national election in early February 2026 to ensure people’s voting rights. However, a certain group is conspiring to sabotage independence and the achievements of the July revolution. They are plotting to disrupt the election. The freedom-loving people are determined to resist these evil forces.

Habu Bhuiyan added, “The country has now reached a critical juncture. Election is the only solution. But the banned Awami League is once again trying to instigate violence. Such evil forces can never bring good for the nation. Therefore, united public opinion must be built to safeguard independence and democracy.”

He also said, “It is due to the wisdom and foresight of BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman that the country has been freed from fascism. To preserve this achievement, leaders and activists at all levels must remain united. Only through fulfilling the dream of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and implementing Tarique Rahman’s 31-point program can the victory of the paddy-sheaf be ensured.”

At the meeting, he sought prayers for the quick recovery of Begum Khaleda Zia and for the good health and long life of Tarique Rahman.

Later, Habu Bhuiyan joined another preparatory meeting for election management organized by Garpara Union BNP.
