REHAB Election Under Scrutiny Days Before Voting

MM Rahmatullah: An emergency press conference was held in Dhaka over emerging concerns surrounding the upcoming REHAB election (2026–2028). The event took place on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 5:00 PM on the second floor of the National Press Club, organized by candidates participating in the election.

During the press conference, the candidates expressed concerns over alleged irregularities and lack of clarity in the election process, which they believe could hinder a free and fair voting environment. They emphasized the need for transparency, accuracy in the voter list, and strict adherence to electoral codes of conduct.

The speakers stated that any question over the credibility of the REHAB election could negatively impact the broader real estate sector. Therefore, they urged the relevant authorities to address the issues immediately and ensure a credible and acceptable electoral process.

The candidates also warned that if their concerns are not properly addressed, they may be compelled to announce more stringent programs in the future.

It is noteworthy that the REHAB election is scheduled to be held on April 18, 2026, and has already generated significant interest and discussion among stakeholders.
