Dhaka City South Jamaat holds Hajj guideline workshop

MM Rahmatullah: A Hajj guideline workshop for pilgrims was organized by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City South. The workshop was held Thursday night at the Council Hall of the Institution of Diploma Engineers.

ATM Azharul Islam MP, Nayeb-e-Ameer of the party, addressed the event as chief guest.

In his speech, the chief guest said, “No other political party has made sacrifices like Jamaat-e-Islami.” He claimed that 11 top leaders of the party were executed through “judicial killings” and that numerous leaders and activists had laid down their lives in the struggle to establish justice and fairness. He added, “People cannot be suppressed by arms and muscle power, nor will they be in the future.”

He urged the Hajj pilgrims to pray for the welfare of the country and the nation, saying that justice can only be established through an Islamic system of governance.

Speaking as special guest, Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan MP said that just as Hajj is obligatory for those who are able, establishing Deen on earth is also obligatory. He stressed the importance of properly observing all obligatory duties and said true success lies in attaining salvation from Hell and gaining Paradise.

The workshop was presided over by Md. Nurul Islam Bulbul MP, Ameer of Dhaka City South, and conducted by Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud MP, Secretary. Also speaking at the event were Islamic thinkers and scholars including Dr. Khalilur Rahman Madani, Mufti Ali Hasan Osama, and Maulana Zakaria Nur.

In his presidential address, Nurul Islam Bulbul said that attempts to re-establish autocracy by ignoring the mandate of the public vote pose a threat to the country. He alleged that by not taking the oath of the Constitution Reform Council, the BNP had disregarded the people’s verdict. He called for upholding the spirit of the mass uprising of August 5, 2024.

Engineer Moinul Haque Tanvir presented on Hajj guidelines at the workshop. Leaders from various levels and Hajj pilgrims were also present.
