International : On the occasion of the 42nd Teachers’ Day, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), President of China and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, extended his sincere greetings to teachers across the country. On September 10, on behalf of the CPC Central Committee, he conveyed congratulations and heartfelt greetings to all teachers and education workers nationwide.

In his message, Xi Jinping said that for a long time, Chinese teachers have implemented the CPC’s education policy, shouldered the important responsibility of imparting knowledge and educating students, and made significant contributions to the country’s development.

He stressed that, on the new journey, teachers are expected to remain mindful of their responsibility to cultivate people for the CPC and nurture talent for the country, while fulfilling their fundamental duty of fostering moral character and educating people. He called on them to broadly uphold and promote the spirit of educators, develop high ethical standards and professional values, enhance their professional skills and capabilities, and make every effort to cultivate a new generation of citizens capable of shouldering the great responsibility of national rejuvenation.

He further said that CPC committees and governments at all levels should also attach importance to developing a strong and high-quality teaching workforce. At the same time, a positive social environment that respects teachers and values education should be fostered, so that concerted efforts can be made to build a strong country in education.
