6 killed as bus collides with truck

Staff Reporter : Six people were killed and fifteen others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger-bus and a stone-laden truck in Bagura early Sunday.

The incident took place on Dhaka-Bagura highway near college road area in Sherpur upazila of the district around 6am.

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

The vehicle movement was suspended after the incident in the area.

Ratan Hossen, Station Officer of Sherpur Fire Service and Civil Defence, said a Bagura-bound bus of SR Travels Paribahan from Dhaka collided head-on with a stone-laden truck in the area, leaving six people dead and fifteen people injured.

The injured people were first sent to the local upazila health complex and then sent to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital, Ratan added.
