Kamrul Hasan : Former Vice-President of the JASAS Central Executive Committee, BNP leader, senior advocate of the Supreme Court, and nomination aspirant for Manikganj-1 (Ghior, Daulatpur, and Shibalaya) constituency, Advocate Md. Aminul Haque, has said that “restoring democracy and ensuring overall development of the constituency are my primary goals for contesting the election.”
He made the remarks at a press conference held on Saturday (22 November) at 12 pm at the Manikganj Press Club.
In his written statement, Advocate Aminul Haque said:“The state of the rule of law, democracy, and human rights in the country has severely deteriorated. Corruption, injustice, impunity, mismanagement, and a crisis of citizens’ rights have made the lives of ordinary people increasingly unbearable.”
He asserted that the BNP has been struggling for many years to restore people’s voting rights and democracy, and that he has been actively involved in this movement as well.
During the press conference, he further said:“The comprehensive development of Ghior, Daulatpur, and Shibalaya is my main commitment. I want to build a developed, prosperous, and livable region through improvements in education, healthcare, agriculture, communication infrastructure, and by creating employment opportunities for the youth.”
He also added:“Public expectations from the BNP-led movement are very high. If a free and fair election is held, the people will surely elect their preferred candidate.”
Among those present at the event were Mohammad Jahangir Hossain, Joint Convener of Dhaka South Nationalist Krishak Dal and Convenor of Zia Cyber Force; Dr. Md. Nurul Islam, President of Daulatpur Upazila JASAS; Md. Badol, General Secretary of Khalshi Union JASAS; along with journalists from various print and electronic media outlets.
