Buses collision claim lives of 11 in Sylhet

Online Desk : A bus collided head-on with another on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Sylhet district on Friday morning, leaving 11 people dead.

The acccident took place at Rashidpur area under Surma Dakshin Police Station on the highway at about 7:00am that also left more 50 passengers of the both vehicle injured.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediaelaty.

The police station officer in-charge (OC) Md Monirul Islam confirmed the matter.

OC Monirul said a Sylhet-bound bus of `London Express` collided head-on with a Dhaka-bound bus of `Ena Paribahan` in the area, leaving 11 people dead on the spot and more 50 others injured.

On information, police and firefighting personnel rushed to the scene, rescued the injured and sent them to different hospitals, he added.
