Child dies from snake bite in C`nawabganj

A child died after being bitten by a venomous snake in Chapainawabganj`s Gomostapur upazila.

The incident took place at around 4 am on Tuesday (May 27) at Sagarail village under Radhanagar union of the upazila.

The dead Rifat, 8, son of Ukil Uddin of Sagarail village under Radhanagar union of the upazila.

According to locals, the snake bit Rifat while he was asleep at around 3:30 AM. Family members rushed him to Gomostapur Upazila Health Complex, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival at around 4:00 AM.

Gomastapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rois Uddin confirmed the incident, stating that they have received reports of the child’s death due to a snake bite and necessary steps are being taken.
