Bangladesh reported one more dengue death and 169 new cases in the last 24 hours till Saturday morning, bringing the total fatalities this year to 29 and confirmed cases to 5,739.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the latest death occurred in Chattogram division.
Barisal reported the highest number of new cases (101), followed by Chittagong (28), Dhaka South (19), Dhaka North (16), and other districts.
Currently, 633 dengue patients are hospitalized nationwide.
Last year, dengue claimed 575 lives and infected over 101,000 people.
The last nationwide lockdown in Bangladesh was enforced in August 2021.
