Members of Detective Branch (DB) police have arrested four individuals, including two leaders of the Jubo League in Sylhet, from the Mohammadpur area of the capital.

The arrest was made during a drive conducted on Monday (June 16).

Among those arrested are Rezaul Islam Reza, organisational secretary of Sylhet district Jubo League, and Zakirul Alam Zakir, a former member of the convening committee of Sylhet city Jubo League.

Sylhet Kotwali Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Ziaul Haque said Reza is accused in two cases related to attacks on anti-discrimination student protests, while Zakir is accused in three similar cases. Both were on the run before being detained.

Legal proceedings against them are underway, he added.
