The Bangladesh Army is currently conducting an operation against a den of the United Peoples Democratic Front (UPDF) in Rangamati, from which a significant cache of weapons, including an AK-47 assault rifle, has been recovered so far.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate confirmed the ongoing operation in a statement released on Tuesday, July 29.
According to the ISPR, the army conducted an operation and exchanged fire at a UPDF hideout in the remote hilly areas of Baghaichhari, Rangamati. During the operation, the army has thus far recovered an AK-47 rifle along with other weapons and ammunition.
The ISPR further stated that the "operation is ongoing" and more detailed information would be provided later.
