  Date : 30-07-2025

The Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM) has detained 171 migrants, including Bangladeshi nationals, in Kuala Lumpur.

However, it could not be known yet how many Bangladeshis are among the detainees.

Documents of 758 migrants were searched in a drive in adjacent area of Jalan Masjid India on Tuesday, July 29, and of them, 171 were held on various charges, according to Bernama news agency.

The detainees were taken to the Millenium temporary immigration depot in Beranang, Selangor for legal action, said JIM Enforcement director Basri Othman.

Those who have no valid pass can leave Malaysia under ongoing Migrant Repatriation Programme (PRM), he said.
