DU students have chosen desired leadership: Shibir president
  Date : 10-09-2025

Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir President Zahidul Islam said Dhaka University (DU) students have finally secured their desired leadership through the DUCSU elections, breaking what he described as a 15-year-long “fascist culture” on campus.

Reacting to DUCSU results in the early hours of Wednesday, shortly after 3 AM, on the university campus, Zahidul Islam said, “After a long gap, students have been able to elect leaders of their choice. They have now found the leadership they longed for.”

He added that the fall of what he termed “fascism” was evident in the enthusiasm, spontaneity, and active participation of students, which he claimed ensured a fair electoral environment.

The Shibir president further said the joy was not limited to DU students but had inspired people across the country and abroad.

Expressing gratitude to Allah, Zahidul Islam urged students and supporters to remain calm. He also pledged to work toward building a Bangladesh of compassion, solidarity, and harmony.
