The July National Charter will be officially signed on October 15 at South Plaza of the National Parliament.
The historic signing ceremony will be led by Professor Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the Interim Government and Chair of the National Consensus Commission.
Representatives from various political parties and alliances across the country will attend the event.
The decision was finalized on Thursday (October 9) during a meeting at the Consensus Commission office in the Parliament building, according to the Commission’s Public Relations Officer Paban Chowdhury.
During the meeting, experts’ opinions on implementing the July Charter and feedback gathered from five separate meetings with political parties were reviewed. It was noted that recommendations on implementation, based on the analysis of expert and party inputs, will soon be submitted to the government.
The meeting was attended by Professor Ali Riaz (Co-Chair), Dr. Badiul Alam Majumdar, Justice Md. Emdadul Haq, Dr. Iftekharruzzaman, and Dr. Md. Ayub Mia. Also present was Monir Haider, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, involved in the consensus-building process.
