Awareness Meeting on Drug Abuse, Eve-Teasing, and Terrorism Held in Manikganj
  Date : 17-10-2025

Kamrul Hasan : An awareness meeting was held in Manikganj to strengthen community involvement in preventing social vices such as drug abuse, eve-teasing, and terrorism. The meeting, organized to raise awareness among local dignitaries and socially conscious citizens, was held with the Deputy Commissioner of Manikganj.

The special awareness program took place on Thursday evening (October 16) at the premises of the 88 No. Government Primary School in Manikganj Municipality, organized by Ward No. 6 of the municipality.

Deputy Commissioner and Joint Secretary Dr. Manowar Hossain Molla attended the meeting as the chief guest. Local public representatives, district administration officials, police officers, teachers, students, parents, and people from various professions and social backgrounds were also present at the event.

In his address, the Deputy Commissioner said that drug abuse is pushing the young generation toward destruction, eve-teasing is a deep disgrace not only for the victims but also for families and society, and terrorism is undermining peace and stability in the community.

He emphasized that collective efforts are essential to keep society healthy and safe. “It is not possible for the administration alone to eliminate these problems,” he noted. “Active participation from families, educational institutions, and the community is crucial.”

All attendees pledged to:
? Take a firm stand against drug abuse,
? Build a social movement to prevent eve-teasing, and
? Support law enforcement agencies by providing information against terrorism.

Local residents expressed that such meetings play an important role in bringing positive social change. They added that guiding the young generation on the right path requires a combined effort from families, schools, and society as a whole.
