Kamrul Hasan : Afroza Khanam Rita, a member of the BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council and Convener of the Manikganj District BNP, has said that if the BNP forms the next government, an engineering university will be established in Manikganj. She stated that the BNP has already formulated a comprehensive plan to improve the quality of education and ensure the overall development of the district. “Under the prudent guidance, direction, and visionary leadership of BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, democracy has been restored, and the journey of a new Bangladesh has begun,” she said. Rita made the remarks while addressing as the chief guest at the freshers’ reception of Porar Khan Bahadur Awlad Hossain College in Manikganj town on Thursday afternoon. Afroza Khanam Rita said, “The 31-point reform program announced by Tarique Rahman to restructure the state is not merely a political commitment—it is the foundation for restoring people’s rights and building a prosperous nation.” She added that the people are ready for change. “It is now the call of time to ensure the victory of the Sheaf of Paddy, the symbol of our struggle for democracy and freedom.” Rita remarked, “The interim government is set to announce the national election roadmap in the first half of February. However, a vested quarter is conspiring to foil the election process.” She urged party leaders and activists to remain united against all attempts to undermine democracy. Highlighting the importance of internal unity within the party, she said, “Those who create division from outside the party’s ideology will have no place in the organization. We must strengthen every tier of the party through unity — only then will the Sheaf of Paddy achieve victory in Manikganj.” At one point in her speech, Afroza Khanam Rita said, “Manikganj is a district full of potential. By following Tarique Rahman’s vision for development and political wisdom, this district can be transformed into a modern, self-reliant, and citizen-friendly model district.” She also prayed for the speedy recovery of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and for the good health and long life of Tarique Rahman. The event was presided over by Advocate A. F. M. Nurtaj Alam Bahar, PP, President of the College Governing Body and a member of the Manikganj District BNP Convening Committee.
