  Date : 25-11-2025

Staff Reporter: Miscreants have attacked, vandalized and looted a pharmacy named Bismillah Medical Hall owned by Mohammad Misbahuzzaman, son of Mohammad Abdul Awal of Purba Chandana village of Chunarughat upazila. This has created panic in the area.

The incident took place in the Chunarughat Madhya Bazar of the upazila on Thursday afternoon, November 13, 2025. At that time, the miscreants publicly threatened to kill the Jubo League leader.

Research has revealed that the Awami League government fell on August 5, 2024, through a mass uprising by student groups.

At that time, the party`s top leaders and activists fled the country. Seeing the dire situation in the country, Jubo League President of Ward No. 9 of Chunarughat Municipality, Mohammad Misbahuzzaman, also went into hiding in the country.

He used to run a pharmacy in Chunarughat Madhya Bazar along with politics. While he was hiding, the terrorists demanded extortion from his employee Jalil Mia. Out of fear, they were forced to pay 30,000 taka a month ago. Now, when they demand extortion again, they become angry and refuse to pay.

The gang of miscreants looted and vandalized the Bismillah Medical Hall Pharmacy owned by him. Not only that, they also threatened to kill the Jubo League leader publicly if they found him.

In this regard, businessmen named Sujan Mia, Maruf Ahmed, Salik Mia said that such barbaric attacks on business establishments and looting of everything were carried out out of political vendetta. Maybe they would have killed the shop owner if they had found him. They demanded exemplary punishment for the attackers.

In this regard, Chunarughat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Zahidul Islam said, "I have learned about the matter and legal action will be taken."
