Messi tops IFFHS list of Greatest Footballers of All Time

International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) has unveiled its official list of the top 10 greatest footballers in history. Topping the star-studded lineup is Argentine legend Lionel Messi, recognized for his extraordinary career and unmatched impact on the game.

The ranking, shaped through a global hybrid voting process, honours both modern-day icons and legendary figures from football’s past.

The IFFHS, a globally recognized organization established in Leipzig, Germany in 1984, has published a definitive ranking of ten greatest footballers of all time.

Based on a hybrid voting system; with 25% weight given to votes from 100 offline football experts and 75% from online fans worldwide, the list balances contemporary popularity with historical performance.

Lionel Messi has claimed the top spot, solidifying his status as greatest footballer in history, according to this comprehensive evaluation. Just behind him is Brazilian icon Pelé, whose name is synonymous with footballing greatness, followed by Diego Maradona, another Argentine legend revered for his genius on the pitch.
