Awami League posters on walls in Phulpur

Mijanur Rahman Akanda, Phulpur: Awami League posters have been put up on the walls of various houses and electricity poles in the area adjacent to the Women`s Degree College of Phulpur Municipality in Mymensingh.
Two days ago, these posters, including the picture of former Awami League MP Sharif Ahmed, were put up under the banner of Chhatra League and Jubo League at night. There has been a negative reaction among the locals regarding the matter. Locals allege that the leaders and activists of Jubo League and Chhatra League have carried out these activities by managing some BNP leaders. Some BNP leaders who did not want to be named said that although the accused in the cases of Awami League, Jubo League and Chhatra League are moving freely in Phulpur, the local BNP or the administration is not taking any action against them. On the occasion of the National Mourning Day on August 15 and the 50th martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the leaders and activists of the Upazila Chhatra League and Jubo League held a doa and milad mahfil. The leaders and activists present at the event took an oath to bring back former Awami League Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. In addition, the leaders and activists of the Awami League and its affiliated organizations are carrying out various campaigns in favor of the Awami League on their Facebook IDs. They are also posting various disrespectful and misleading posts on Facebook against the current government`s chief advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus and BNP party leaders. However, Upazila Jubo Dal leaders Waheduzzaman Mithun and AKM Ariful Haque have already strongly condemned and protested these incidents. They have also strongly demanded the administration to quickly arrest the accused in the Awami League case.
