The Sheaf of Paddy is the Symbol of Development — S.A. Jinnah Kabir

Kamrul Hasan: S.A. Jinnah Kabir, a member of BNP’s Central Executive Committee, former General Secretary of the District BNP, senior member of the District BNP Steering Committee, and the BNP candidate for Manikganj-1, has emphasized that the 31-point reform agenda announced by BNP’s Acting Chairman and National Leader Tarique Rahman serves as a shining example for upholding the rights of ordinary citizens in the country.

He stated that if implemented, this agenda will make the country self-reliant, prosperous, and developed, with its positive impact extending to the international arena. To maintain continuity, everyone must work together in unity. Referring to the sheaf of paddy as the symbol of development, he urged people to ensure the victory of this symbol of independence in the upcoming elections for the welfare of the nation.

On Thursday afternoon, during a program organized by BNP and all its allied organizations in Ward No. 4 of Poila Union, Ghior Upazila, Manikganj, which included a 31-point reform awareness campaign, leaflet distribution, and a public meeting, he delivered his speech as the chief guest. He appealed to party activists, supporters, general voters, and the local community, especially women, to come together and support the cause.

Senior leaders of BNP and its allied organizations were also present at the event.

Unity and Leadership

Jinnah Kabir highlighted that it was due to the foresight of National Leader Tarique Rahman that, faced with the BNP-student-public mass movement, the authoritarian fascist regime of Sheikh Hasina was forced to leave the country on August 5, marking the beginning of a fascism-free, new Bangladesh.

He emphasized that only a united workforce can implement all initiatives effectively. Following the ideals of the Independence Declaration leader, the late President Ziaur Rahman, everyone must set aside differences, work in unity, and ensure the victory of the Sheaf of Paddy to continue the nation’s development — an effort considered extremely beneficial for the country and its people.

On Upcoming Elections

Jinnah Kabir noted that the interim government has decided to hold the national elections in the first half of February to fulfill the long-standing aspirations of the people for the past 17 years. He warned that, anticipating their defeat, anti-independence forces are attempting to delay the elections under the guise of a “PR process” and create confusion. He urged people to build a united public opinion to counter these harmful forces, which are not in the interest of the nation.

Ensuring Victory in Manikganj

Referring to Manikganj as a stronghold of BNP, he stated that to secure the victory of the Sheaf of Paddy, not only BNP but all allied organizations must actively participate in implementing the 31-point reform agenda announced by National Leader Tarique Rahman. Both men and women must play leading roles. Only then will Tarique Rahman become Prime Minister, making comprehensive development in the country possible.

In conclusion, he prayed for the recovery of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and wished for the good health and long life of National Leader Tarique Rahman.
