There Is No Alternative to Tarique Rahman in Building a Society of Religious Harmony and Equality — S. A. Jinnah Kabir

Kamrul Hasan: S. A. Jinnah Kabir, Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), former General Secretary of the Manikganj District BNP, and senior member of the District Convening Committee, has said that the unity of people from all religions and communities is essential to implement the 31-point reform program announced by BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman — aimed at protecting the country’s independence, constitution, and democracy, and overcoming the ongoing national Fascism.

Speaking at an exchange meeting with members of the local Sanatan (Hindu) community at Tora Mirzapur Majhipara in Ghior upazila of Manikganj on Sunday evening, he said,

“We are all citizens of this country, regardless of our religious differences. The BNP firmly believes — religion is personal, but the state belongs to everyone. If the BNP forms the government, Bangladesh will become a nation of true religious harmony, where there will be no place for discrimination, injustice, or oppression. There is no alternative to Deshnayak Tarique Rahman in building an egalitarian nation.”

The meeting was attended by District BNP Convening Committee member Lokman Hossain, former District BNP Training Affairs Secretary Ferdous Rahman, District Krishak Dal Vice-President Masudur Rahman Masud, Ghior Upazila BNP President Mir Manikuzzaman Manik, Shibalaya Upazila BNP Organizing Secretary Nasir Uddin, Daulatpur Upazila BNP Joint General Secretary Habibullah Nomani, District Jubo Dal Joint Convener Abdul Momen, Shibalaya Upazila Jubo Dal Convener Mohammad Hossain Ali, and District Swechchhasebak Dal Joint Convener Kazi Nadim Hossain Tuel, along with leaders and activists of the BNP and its affiliated organizations, and representatives of the local Sanatan religious community.

S. A. Jinnah Kabir further said,
“Under the visionary leadership of Deshnayak Tarique Rahman, the BNP and the people’s movement have brought an end to autocratic rule. Now we must work together to transform the outcome of that struggle into sustainable development. Upholding the ideals of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, we must continue the nation’s journey toward progress.”

He added, “As part of fulfilling the people’s 17-year-long aspirations, the interim government has decided to hold the national election in February 2026. However, a vested quarter is conspiring to thwart the election in the name of the so-called ‘PR system.’ For the welfare of the nation, this evil force must be confronted unitedly.”

Calling upon party leaders and activists, S. A. Jinnah Kabir said,
“Everyone must play an active role to ensure the victory of the Sheaf of Paddy symbol. Both men and women should take leadership responsibilities in the political field.”

At the end of his speech, he prayed for the speedy recovery of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and sought everyone’s prayers for the good health and long life of Deshnayak Tarique Rahman.

Later, he attended the 79th Annual Urs Mubarak of Noyai Kazi at Laxmipura in Shimulia Union of Shibalaya upazila, Manikganj, as the chief guest.
