Call for Unity to Ensure Victory of the Symbol of Freedom — the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’: S.A. Jinnah Kabir

kamrul hasan: S.A. Jinnah Kabir, member of the BNP Central Executive Committee, former General Secretary of Manikganj District BNP, and senior member of the District Convening Committee, has called for united efforts to protect independence, uphold the constitution and democracy, and to build a just state through the implementation of the 31-point reform agenda of the state structure declared by BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

Speaking as the chief guest at the Ashtakalin Leela Kirtan ceremony held on Wednesday afternoon at the premises of the Kalimandir in Daulatpur, Manikganj, Jinnah Kabir said,

“It is not what the country has given you that matters most — rather, it is what you have done for your country. Everyone must dedicate themselves to the welfare of the nation.”

He further stated that ensuring the victory of the ‘Sheaf of Paddy,’ the symbol of independence, requires unity and communal harmony along with the full implementation of Tarique Rahman’s 31-point state reform plan.

The event was presided over by Upazila BNP President Sirajul Islam. Among those present were District Jubo Dal Convener Kazi Mostaq Hossain Dipu, Senior Vice-President of District Krishak Dal Masudur Rahman Masud, former Agriculture Secretary Lokman Hossain, Ghior Upazila BNP President Mir Manikuzzaman Manik, General Secretary Anisur Rahman Anis, and Shibalaya Upazila BNP Organizing Secretary Nasir Uddin, along with hundreds of leaders and activists from district, upazila, and union levels of various associate organizations.

Leaders from Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, Sramik Dal, and Chhatra Dal, as well as local dignitaries, devotees, and thousands of residents also joined the event.

BNP leader Jinnah Kabir said, “The interim government has announced that the national election roadmap will be revealed in the first half of February 2026. However, a certain quarter is conspiring to sabotage the election in the name of the so-called ‘peer system.’ These anti-democratic forces cannot bring welfare to the nation. We must build a united public opinion to resist them.”

Addressing party leaders and activists, he said, “In the upcoming election, those whose polling centers show a larger vote margin in favor of the ‘Sheaf of Paddy,’ and those who actively work under Tarique Rahman’s leadership to ensure victory — they will be the ones valued organizationally in the future.”

Referring to Manikganj BNP as a historically stronghold of the party, Jinnah Kabir added,

“BNP believes in development, not conspiracy. To ensure the victory of the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ in every constituency of Manikganj, we must forget all divisions and work together in unity.”

He expressed his inspiration in the ideals of the martyred President Ziaur Rahman, prayed for the good health of Begum Khaleda Zia, and the long life of Tarique Rahman, and urged all party leaders and activists to dedicate themselves to the service of the nation.

Earlier, he attended a views-exchange meeting at his residence with leaders of the district, Ghior, Daulatpur, and Shibalaya BNP units and their associate organizations. The meeting discussed the campaign for the 31-point state reform agenda, strengthening of organizational structures, and formulating effective strategies ahead of the upcoming 12th National Parliamentary Election.
