PM exchanges greetings with leaders of allied political parties

(BSS) – Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today exchanged greetings with leaders of the political parties that participated in the simultaneous anti-fascist movement at State Guest House Jamuna here this evening.

The Prime Minister arrived at the venue in the open courtyard of the State Guest House at 7:27 pm, where arrangements had been made for the leaders of the parties that took part in the joint movement.

Tarique Rahman went from table to table, exchanging greetings with the leaders of the allied leaders. He was accompanied by BNP Secretary General and LGRD and Cooperatives Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

Later, the formal programme began at 7:40 pm with the recitation of the Holy Quran.

Leaders of 41 political parties that had participated in the movement to oust the fascist government were invited to the event.

Members of the BNP Standing Committee and members of the liaison committee formed during the movement joined the event.

This is the first formal meeting between Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and the leaders of the parties allied in the anti-fascist movement since the BNP formed the government after securing a majority in the 13th parliamentary election held on February 12.

Among those invited were leaders of the Ganatantra Mancha, the 12-Party Alliance, the Like-Minded Nationalist Alliance, the Democratic Left Alliance, Islami Oikya Jote, and other Islamic political parties.
