Former Successful Member Maksud Alam Emerges as a Prominent Candidate for Chairman of Joyag Union Parishad

Md. Nazrul Islam : Former successful Union Parishad Member Maksud Alam has emerged as a widely discussed potential candidate for the position of Chairman of Joyag Union Parishad No. 01 under Sonaimuri Upazila. Owing to his long-standing political and social involvement, organisational skills, and close connection with the local community, he is regarded as a well-known and widely accepted public figure.

Maksud Alam served as a member of the Joyag Union BNP for approximately 15 years. He has also played significant roles in party politics as the Joint Convener of the Joyag Union BNP and a former member of the Sonaimuri Upazila BNP.
Alongside his political career, he has been actively involved in leading various social and professional organisations. He is currently serving as the President of the Sonaimuri Upazila Press Club and the President of the Sonaimuri Deed Writers Association.
Associated with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) since 1991, Maksud Alam is recognised as a dedicated party activist. Over the past 17 years, he has reportedly been subjected to multiple political attacks, legal cases, and persecution. His residence was also allegedly vandalised. Despite these challenges, he remained steadfast in his commitment to the party`s ideals, consistently stood beside party leaders and activists, and worked tirelessly to strengthen the organisation.
According to local residents, Maksud Alam`s integrity, experience, public engagement, and long record of political sacrifice have made him a strong and deserving contender for the post of Chairman of Joyag Union Parishad No. 01. Many believe that if elected Chairman, he would further accelerate the Union`s overall development, ensure good governance, and promote greater public welfare.
