Three brothers born in Australia memorize Holy Quran together, inspire expatriate Muslims

Syed Atik: In a rare and inspiring feat for the Bangladeshi diaspora, three brothers born and raised in Australia have completed the memorization of the Holy Quran together and earned the honour of becoming Hafez.

The brothers - Musab Mohammad Azad, Saad Mohammad Azad and Muaz Mohammad Azad - of Bangladeshi origin completed their Hifz at Darul Nasihah Australia in Sydney. Their achievement has brought joy and pride to their family, relatives and the Bangladeshi Muslim community in Australia.

Another young Hafez, Ibrahim Khan, who completed his Hifz at Dar Al Huffaz Academy, was also honoured at the same ceremony.

A Hifz Completion and Certificate Awarding Ceremony was held on Saturday, October 17, after Maghrib prayer at 1 Mona Street, Bankstown, Sydney. The program was organized by Darul Nasihah Australia and was attended by Ulama, teachers, parents, and men and women of all ages. The presence of community members made the event joyous and deeply spiritual.

The two institutions - Darul Nasihah Australia and Dar Al Huffaz Academy - are located at the same premises at 1 Mona Street, Bankstown, serving the growing Muslim community in Sydney`s western suburbs.

The ceremony was presided over by Hafez Maulana Mufti Shaikh Saffat Anwar, Principal of Darul Nasihah Australia.

Speaking on the occasion, Islamic scholars highlighted the honour and dignity of the Holy Quran, the importance of Hifz, the teachings of Hadith, and the urgent need to raise the new generation growing up abroad with Islamic values.

Among those who spoke were Maulana Mohammad Khan, Maulana Ishfaq, Maulana Azwaruddin, Shaikh Tariq Al-Biqayi and Qari Sajjad. They congratulated the four new Huffaz and called upon them to implement the teachings of the Holy Quran in their personal lives, families and society.

The success of the three brothers, born in Australia, is seen as a shining example for expatriate Muslim families striving to keep their children connected to faith, roots and Quranic education despite growing up far from home.
