Son of a day laborer got chance in Medical College
  Date : 27-04-2024

Mostafizur Rahman, Sarishabari: Sumon is a child of a lower class family.  He has got a chance in this year`s medical admission test in BoguraShaheedZiaurRahmanMedicalCollege.

Father Md. Mintu Mia is a landless day laborer.  He does not have any land and shelter of his own. Mother China Begum is a housewife.  Sumon is the youngest of 3 siblings in a family of 5 members. Sumon was born in village of Shimla Palli (Taria Para) in Sarishabari municipality of Jamalpur district.

Sumon, an indomitable meritorious student, was very attentive to his studies from an early age.  Since then, he seemed to have touched the sky.  Witness is the results of each test.  He got admission in MymensinghShaheedSyedNazrulIslamCollege after getting GPA-5 from Science Department from SarishabariRDMModelPilotHigh School in 2018 with scholarship in Talent Pool in 5th class and General Grade in 8th class.  From there he got Golden GPA-5 from science department with HSC exam.

His only goal was to put a smile on the face of his landless day laborer father with success.  After getting GPA-5 in SSC and HSC, Sumon started the admission battle without any kind of admission coaching for medical admission.  He catches the success, Get 70.50 out of 100 marks in the admission test.  His merit score stands at 270.50.  The place is at number 2714 in the merit list.  Given a chance, he now dreams of becoming a doctor.

Sumon said, thank God for this success.  This success of mine is due to his grace and the blessings of my parents.  I have always valued the inspiration of parents and teachers.

"I am the child of a landless day laborer father," he said.  I understand what poverty is.  I could not get admission in coaching due to lack of money. So as a doctor I want to dedicate myself to the service of the poorest people in the society.  I have the support and inspiration of many, including my teachers, family, and friends, to come so far.  I am forever grateful to everyone.  I wish blessings to all.  I want to become a doctor and serve helpless people.
