Demonstration rally of communist movement of Bangladesh in Thakurgaon

Sohel Rana, Thakurgaon: "Reduce the prices of daily necessities including rice, oil and medicine. We want free food aid for the poor and low-income people in the lockdown. Ensure the treatment of corona patients in the upazilas with the necessary arrangements." A protest rally of the communist movement of Bangladesh has been held in Thakurgaon demanding the release of labor leader Ruhul Amin and the repeal of the Digital Security Act.

The protest rally was held under the banner of the new political party Bangladesh`s communist movement at the city crossroads around 12 noon on Monday. Thakurgaon district convener of the communist movement of Bangladesh Mahabub Alam Rubel presided over the hour-long protest rally. Sukumar Roy, Zakir Hossain, labor leader Shahjahan Ali and others. The protesters expressed outrage at the abnormal rise in prices of soybean oil and other daily necessities, including rice and medicine, and demanded immediate reduction in prices, including free food for the poor and low-income people during the lockdown. They demanded to ensure proper treatment of corona victims in districts and upazilas with necessary arrangements. The leaders demanded immediate reopening of the closed jute mills and called upon the people at all levels to resist the conspiracy to shut down the sugar mills. He also demanded the release of Ruhul Amin, the leader of the jute mill movement, and the repeal of the Digital Security Act.
