Tanvir of Rumaliarchhara in Cox`s Bazar was detained in Chittagong along with 50,000 pieces of yaba

Abu Sayem, Cox`s Bazar: Md. Rhyme area of ​​North Rumalia in Cox`s Bazar city. RAB-7 detained Tanvir (36) in Chittagong along with 50,000 pieces of yaba. He was arrested on Wednesday (August 12) from Shikalbaha crossing area of ​​Karnafuli police station in Chittagong. Son of Mofidul Alam. RAB-8`s assistant director. Mahmudul Hasan said that on the basis of secret information, RAB came to know that a consignment of yaba would be smuggled from Cox`s Bazar to Dhaka via Chittagong. To seize the consignment, a team of RAB-7 set up a special check post on the Cox`s Bazar-Chittagong highway at Shikalbaha crossing area of ​​Karnafuli and started searching the vehicle. The driver of the bus stopped in front of the RAB check post when he signaled to stop a Dhaka-bound London Paribahan bus leaving Cox`s Bazar for a search. When RAB members started searching the inside of the bus and the passengers, a passenger inside the bus tried to flee but was detained by RAB members. Later, he found 50,000 pieces of yaba in his bag. The estimated value of the seized yaba is around Tk 25 million.
Detainee Tanvir confessed to RAB that he had been buying yaba from Cox`s Bazar for a long time and selling it in different parts of the country including Dhaka. He was later handed over to Karnafuli police station.
