4 people, including 3 members of the same family killed by the hit of a BRTC Bus

Ranju, Kurigram Correspondent: Four passengers of a private car were killed when a bus overturned on the Rangpur-Kurigram highway at RDRS Bazar in Kanthalbari union of Kurigram Sadar upazila. Among the dead are 3 members of the same family. The accident happened around 8:30 am on Thursday.

According to police and relatives of the deceased, senior technical instructor (TI) Akbar Hossain (62), his wife Bilkich Begum (45), son Belal Hossain (26) and daughter Ayesha Siddique (14) working in a children`s family in Narsingdi district underwent eye surgery. He was coming to his village home on holiday. The deceased was identified as Akbar Hossain of Panchpir village under Durgapur union under Ulipur upazila of Kurigram. Arriving at the spot in the morning on the way, there was a head-on collision with a bus. The driver of the car Delbar Hossain was killed on the spot. Akbar Hossain, his wife and son died at Kurigram GeneralHospital. Her daughter Ayesha Siddique was referred to RangpurMedicalCollege due to serious injuries. And Helper Unknown (13) is undergoing treatment at Kurigram GeneralHospital.

Residential Medical Officer (RMO) of Kurigram General Hospital Redwan Ferdous confirmed Sajib`s death.

Kurigram Sadar Police Station OC (Investigation) Anwarul Islam confirmed the incident and said the BRTC bus driver fled immediately after the incident. The injured were rushed to the hospital.
