Sheikh Jahan Ronny, Madhabpur: Advocate Mahbub Ali, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, Madhabpur Upazila, Habiganj, handed over the keys of disaster-prone houses to the homeless at Madhabpur Upazila Parishad auditorium and distributed grant checks to improve the living standards of tea workers.
The meeting was chaired by Madhabpur Upazila Nibarhi Officer Tasnuva Nastaran and conducted by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ayesha Akhter at 11 am on Thursday (August 13). Apan Mia, Shafiqul Islam, Faruk Pathan, Shahid Uddin, Social Service Officer Solaiman Majumder, Project Implementation Officer Masudul Islam, Tea Workers Leader Rabindra Gaur and others.
Advocate Mahbub Ali, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, said, "We are working to build Sona Bangla, the dream country of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Bangladesh is moving forward with the goal of no one being homeless. For example, many rich and influential countries in the world have failed to corona. The government was ready to handle the situation before Corona, so Corona is under control in Bangladesh. The government has provided adequate relief to the people of the country so that they do not suffer from food crisis during the Corona period. The government is building houses for the homeless. He was speaking as the chief guest at the handing over of keys of disaster-proof houses for the homeless at Madhabpur Upazila Parishad auditorium and distribution of checks for grants to improve the living standards of tea workers.
Note: Disaster tolerant houses were provided to 18 families at a cost of Tk 54 lakh with the funding of the Ministry of Relief and Disaster Management. Besides, checks worth Tk 2 crore 77 lakh 30 thousand were handed over to 5,546 tea worker families of 5 tea gardens.
