PSTC 34th AGM held

Business Desk: 34th Annual General Meeting of the renowned non-government organization, Population Services and Training Center (PSTC) was held on Friday, 15th December 2023 at PSTC Bhaban, Aftabnagar. The meeting was chaired by its Chairperson Former Chief Information Commissioner, Dr. Md. Golam Rahman while among others; Former Secretary to the Govt. Mr. ASM Mahbubul Alam were present.  Dr. Noor Mohammad, Executive Director and the Member Secretary of PSTC presented the annual program and financial reports.

The members present remembered the founder of the organization Commander (Rtd.) Abdur Rouf whose able visionary leadership PSTC could reach at a height. The Chairperson Dr. Md. Golam Rahman underlined the need of devotion to work together centering its mission and vision. He called the members present to support the management which has been trying to make the organization from ‘good’ to ‘great’. PSTC in its 45-year journey, always think of empowering women, addressing the special target people like children, youth and adolescents. Under the able leadership of Dr. Noor Mohammad, PSTC has experienced ‘re-branding’, and ‘re-building’ its image working towards sustainable development of the organization which will contribute achieving the sustainable development goals (SDGs).

In the AGM, a new Seven-member Governing Body was elected for 2024-2025 and the assembly elected Ms. Sanjeeda Islam as the Chairperson, Ms. Gitali Badrunnessa as Vice Chairperson and Mr. Md. Badrul Munir as the Treasurer. Dr. Md. Golam Rahman and Mr. ASM Mahbubul Alam remain as Elective Members of the body. The new faces in the body are Dr. Fariha Haseen and Dr. Fizar Ahmed. The Governing Body also recognized Dr. Noor Mohammad as leader of the age who led the organization in last 9 years of his tenure every members present hope to continue further.
