Rafiqul Islam Rony, Pabna: Wife Nihara Khatun (40) was returning home with tea seller Shukur Ali. Nihara Khatun was crushed when a moving truck lost control and overturned while passing on the side of the road. Nihara Khatun died on the spot. Shukur Ali lost his wife in front of his eyes and became speechless. The tragic accident took place at around 8pm on Sunday (October 25) in Charpara Bishipara area of ​​Chatmohar upazila in Pabna. The deceased was identified as Nihara Khatun of Charpara Bishipara village under Gunaigachha union of Bari upazila.

Chatmohar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Aminul Islam confirmed the accident and said that tea seller Shukur Ali and his wife Nihara Khatun were returning home from Saheb Bazar of the upazila after closing a tea shop. At that time truck carrying rice, pulses and flour was going from Pabna to Panchagarh (Pabna-T 11-0396). As soon as the truck reached Charpara Bishipara area of ​​Jardis Mor-Handial road, one of the wheels of the truck burst and lost control and fell on one side of the road.

Although Shukur Ali survived, housewife Nihara Khatun was crushed under the truck. Later, locals and Chatmohar Fire Service personnel reached the spot and recovered Nihara Khatun`s body. The driver and helper of the truck fled after the accident. Police seized the truck.
