Dhunt UNO campaign to free footpath: 3 traders fined
  Date : 27-04-2024

Md. Helal Uddin Sarkar, Dhunat: A mobile court conducted an operation to rescue the occupied sidewalk in Dhunat upazila of Bogra district. At that time 3 traders were fined.

Executive Magistrate of the mobile court and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sanjay Kumar Mahanta conducted the operation on Thursday afternoon. At that time, traders Zahirul Islam, Anwar Hossain and Manzil Hossain were fined a total of Tk 3,000 each under section 109 of the 2009 Municipal Rules for occupying sidewalks. Mayor of Dhunat Municipality AGM Badshah and business leaders were present during the campaign.

It may be mentioned that local and traveling traders have been doing business for a long time by occupying the sidewalks of pedestrians on both sides of the main road of Dhunat Upazila. This caused problems for the movement of vehicles and pedestrians. The upazila administration conducted the operation through a mobile court to free the occupied sidewalks. Mr. Sanjay Kumar Mahanta, the present Executive Officer of Dhunat Upazila and Executive Magistrate of the Mobile Court, has been working hard to give Dhunat an Upazila with modern facilities to build a modern Digital Bangladesh, which has already caught everyone`s eye.
