Aziz Moral, Mongla: Police is the people, people are the police, Mujib is the motto of the year, community policing is everywhere, a discussion meeting has been held in Mongla on the occasion of Community Policing Day with this slogan in mind.

Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Asif Iqbal addressed the meeting as the chief guest at a meeting held at 10 am on Saturday (October 31) at the police station premises, chaired by Mongla Police Station Officer-in-Charge Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury.
Member of Bagerhat District Council Bir Muktijoddha Sheikh Abdur Rahman, Principal of Mongla Government College Md. Golam Sarwar, Upazila A. spoke as special guests in the meeting. General Secretary of the League Ibrahim Hossain, General Secretary of the Municipal League Alhaj Sheikh Kamruzzaman Jasim and others.
Officer-in-charge (Investigation) Tuhin Mandal, Second Officer Jahangir Alam, Mithakhali UP Chairman Israfil Hawlader, Municipal Juba League President SM Kabir Hossain, local freedom fighters, Mongla Police Station officials, teachers, journalists, professionals, community policing committee leaders and local policing committee leaders were present at the discussion. .
In his speech, the chief guest said that community policing activities should be carried out to spread awareness and encouragement among the people from all walks of life. Community policing activities will play an important role in preventing drugs, gambling and all kinds of crimes against women with the overall cooperation of people from all walks of life in the area.
He further said that the police are friends of the people, in order to make the police service more dynamic and effective, all the police as well as community policing including drug, gambling, violence against women and terrorist activities need to be informed quickly about the criminals and the nature of crime in the area.
Mongla Police Station Officer Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury said the police are the people, the people are the police, the community policing committee and the police should explain this to the general public at the field level. He sought the cooperation of the people`s representatives, community policing committee and the general public.
