Snake charmer`s son dies of snake bite in Dinajpur

A teenage boy, son of a snake charmer, died after being bitten by a venomous snake in Dinajpur town on Thursday.

Deceased Shakil, 18, son of snake charmer Alam Hossain, was a resident of Dainpara area under Dinajpur municipality.

He was bitten by a snake on the banks of Chhoto Jamuna river in the afternoon. Later, he died at his home around 10 pm.

It was known that Shakil used to help his father to catch snakes in different places over the years. In the afternoon, he went alone to catch snakes along the Chhoto Jamuna river. At that time, a venomous snake accidentally bit him. Later, locals rescued him and took to Birampur Upazila Health Complex where doctors transferred him to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital. His condition deteriorated there. He later died at his home around 10 pm.

Alam Hossain, the father of the dead, said that the boy was taken to the upazila hospital and given first aid. Later, after treatment at Dinajpur Medical College Hospital, the condition worsened. He later brought to home and died at night.
