3 of family killed in Rangpur road accident
  Date : 13-05-2025

Three members of the same family, including an SSC examinee, were killed and another was injured after being run over by a bus in Kaunia upazila of Rangpur on Tuesday morning.

The accident occurred around 9:00am in front of Mirbagh Agricultural College in the upazila.

The deceased were identified as SSC examinee Afsana Begum Sneha, her aunt Ruby Begum, and her two-year-old cousin Rahmat. The injured is the motorcycle rider Ashraful Islam.

Shahinur, a sub-inspector of Kaunia Police Station, said Ashraful had left home in the morning with his niece, wife, and child on a motorcycle. He was taking Sneha to her exam centre and had planned to take his wife Ruby to the doctor afterward.

After crossing the Mirbagh Bailey Bridge, the motorcycle skidded on the slippery road due to rain, causing all four to fall onto the street. At that moment, a bus coming from the opposite direction ran over them, killing the three on the spot. Ashraful was injured in the accident.
