Curfew imposed in Gopalganj from 8 PM following clashes

Online Report : The government has declared a curfew in Gopalganj following a series of retaliatory attacks. According to a statement from the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing, the curfew will be in effect from 8 PM Wednesday until 6 PM Thursday.

Earlier on Wednesday afternoon, violence erupted during a National Citizen Party (NCP) event in the district.

Leaders and activists of Awami League and its student wing, Chhatra League, have been accused of involvement in the attacks.

Clashes also ensued between the miscreants and law enforcement agencies.

In a separate statement, the Press Wing emphasized that those responsible for the violence will face justice.

The interim government made it clear that there is no place for any form of violence in the country.
