Man held with firearms in Ctg

Chattogram District Police have held an alleged arms dealer with firearms from Anwara upazila in Chattogram district on Thursday.

The arrested was identified as Md Abdul Majid, a resident of Barumchhara area in the upazila.

Acting on a tip-off,a team of police led byAnwara Police StationOC Mohammad Monir Hossain conducted a raid at Abdul Majid`s residence early in the morning and recovered the arms, ammunition and Tk 365,000 in cash from his possession.

Chattogram District Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mohammad Russell confirmed the incident.

During the primary interrogation, he confessed that he has been involved in illegal arms trading for a long time, added the ASP.
