The draft of the July Charter has been formally delivered to all recognised political parties, Dr Ali Riaz, Vice-Chairman of the National Consensus Commission, announced on Monday, July 28.
Speaking to reporters after a high-level meeting with political parties at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka, Ali Riaz said the commission has invited feedback from all parties by noon on July 30.
Parties are being asked to submit any recommendations, suggestions, or proposed changes to the draft.
“We are now in the consultation phase,” he said. “Discussions are ongoing, and if there is broad consensus on any proposed changes, they will be incorporated into the final version of the July Charter.”
The draft, aimed at laying the foundation for national unity and democratic reform, is part of the interim government’s roadmap toward inclusive governance and credible elections.
The submission deadline of July 30 marks a critical juncture in the consensus-building process, as the commission prepares to finalize the charter for public release and implementation.
