Kamrul Hasan: Rafiquddin Bhuiyan Habu, former Organizing Secretary of Manikganj District BNP and a member of the district convening committee, has expressed optimism that BNP’s Acting Chairman, Deshnayak Tareq Rahman, will soon return to Bangladesh.
“The triumph of truth has already taken place, while falsehood has been defeated. The people of this country are now united under Tareq Rahman’s leadership to restore democracy and their fundamental rights,” he said.
He made these remarks on Sunday (September 7) evening during a mass outreach and leaflet distribution campaign held at Hatipara, Bhararia, Balirtek Bazar, Baghia Bazar, and Lemubari Bazar in Manikganj Sadar Upazila.
Habu Bhuiyan further stated, “For a long time, the people’s rights have been snatched away and one-party rule has been imposed on the nation. But BNP stands as the true symbol of people’s hopes and aspirations. Under the leadership of Deshnayak Tareq Rahman, Bangladesh will once again return to a democratic path. If the ‘sheaf of paddy’ symbol wins, genuine democracy will be established in this country.”
The program was organized as part of the election campaign in support of Afroza Khanam Rita, member of the BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council and Convenor of Manikganj District BNP. During the campaign, leaflets featuring the BNP’s electoral symbol, the sheaf of paddy, were distributed among the public, urging them to vote for the party. Leaders and activists actively sought support from people in markets and public gatherings.
The mass campaign saw enthusiastic participation from BNP leaders and activists, with slogans filling the marketplaces and surrounding areas: “Victory will be of the sheaf of paddy, democracy will be freed” and “Tareq Rahman is returning, democracy is returning to the country.” Ordinary people were visibly inspired by the slogans.
Many locals expressed their support by accepting the leaflets. A businessman at Balirtek Bazar said, “We want peace, we want our voting rights. We believe BNP’s leadership will bring that day.” A college student added, “If Tareq Rahman returns to the country, new opportunities for youth employment and education will be created.”
In his concluding remarks, Habu Bhuiyan said, “BNP has never betrayed the people. We believe in action, not empty promises. Once Tareq Rahman returns, he will build a new Bangladesh by alleviating the suffering of the people.”
At the end of the program, BNP leaders and activists expressed their firm belief that in the upcoming elections, the sheaf of paddy will become the true symbol of liberation for the people, and its victory will ensure genuine democracy and the restoration of citizens’ rights.
