Kamrul Hasan: Those who undermine the rights to freedom, constitution, and democracy must be resisted. Therefore, another dictator will not be allowed to rise on Bangladeshi soil, said Dr. Khondkar Akbar Hossain Bablu, the eldest son of the late Secretary General Khondkar Delwar Hossain, former vice-president of Manikganj District BNP, member of the district BNP convening committee, and aspirant for the Dhanshish nomination from Manikganj-1 constituency.
He delivered this warning while addressing a meeting as the chief guest on Saturday afternoon at Ward No. 7 of Poyla Union in Ghior Upazila, organized by BNP and its allied organizations to promote the 31-point agenda of state structure reform announced by party chairman Tarique Rahman, distribute leaflets, and hold discussions.
The meeting was presided over by former president of the Union Chhatra Dal Anwar Hossain Master and conducted by Baniajuri UP Panel Chairman Sajjad Hossain. Among the attendees were Md. Anwar Hossain, vice-president of Upazila BNP; publicity secretary Biltu Khan; Kazi Abdur Razzak, vice-president of Shibaloy Upazila BNP; Aminul Islam Master, joint-general secretary of Daulatpur Upazila BNP; Liton Muhuri, member of the District Farmers’ Association; Abul Kalam Azad; H.M. Ujjal Hossain, senior joint convenor of Upazila Swechasebak Dal; and Md. Shahidul Islam Chandu, vice-president of Upazila Farmers’ Association, along with other prominent leaders of BNP and its allied organizations.
Bablu said, “To ensure equality, human dignity, and social justice, and to build the future state for the welfare of the country, everyone must contribute. The 31-point agenda of state structure reform announced by Tarique Rahman considers the interests of all classes and professions in the country. Proper implementation of these points will benefit all citizens.”
He further added, “The Awami League government has destroyed the country. Ministers and MPs have embezzled billions of the people’s money abroad and deprived them of their voting rights. No one can survive by oppressing the people. The 31-point agenda announced by Tarique Rahman has already created a significant response among the citizens. We are delivering this message to the general public through leaflet distribution.”
Bablu expressed hope that implementing the 31-point agenda of state structure reform would make Bangladesh a happy and prosperous country.
He also called for united public opinion to ensure BNP’s victory in every constituency of Manikganj, known as a BNP stronghold, in line with the vision of the late President Ziaur Rahman and the 31-point agenda of state reform announced by Acting Chairman and National Leader Tarique Rahman. He concluded by urging prayers for the speedy recovery of the country’s leader Begum Khaleda Zia and for the good health and long life of National Leader Tarique Rahman.
