23 sacks of documents seized from Saifuzzaman’s driver’s house
  Date : 21-09-2025

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has seized 23 sacks of documents from the home of former land minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury`s driver in Chittagong during a raid linked to a probe into his suspected overseas assets and money laundering.

A team of ACC from its Dhaka headquarters conducted the operation around 3AM on Saturday and continued till early Sunday at the Shikalbaha residence.

No one was detained as the occupants had reportedly left beforehand.

According to ACC Deputy Director Mashiur Rahman, the raid followed information obtained during interrogation of two suspects arrested earlier in connection with the case.

According to the ACC, the seized bags contained property records, business papers and other documents believed to be relevant to the inquiry, though no cash was recovered. Local police, union parishad officials and community representatives were present during the seizure.

Meanwhile, the ACC has petitioned a Chittagong court seeking an Interpol red notice against Saifuzzaman and his wife in a related graft case. Investigators believe the recovered materials may offer fresh clues about wealth and transactions abroad.
